Leaders of several Palestinian parties participated in round table meeting organized by the Arab Thought Forum on March 8th, 2006. Leaders from Hamas, Fateh, PFLP, DFLP and Third Way list attended. Community leaders also participated including Civil Society organizations and the Central Election Commission.
The meeting is a follow up to two previous meetings conducted to tackle the internal Palestinian crises after the legislative elections on January 2006. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss a draft declaration containing thirteen points of response to current constitutional issues. A new document will be drafted based on the participants feed back, the new document will be divided to three sections, each responding to one of the three issues of constitutional amendments, ethical issues and the role of the PLO.
